Located in Lunenburg County, Virginia we've served the surrounding communities since 1977 in the personalization and customization of cemetery monuments along with public, church and business stone products. Martin Monument Company was founded in 1977 by Charles and Lottie Newsome Martin. Both started in the monument business in 1966, learning their trade from Lottie’s parents and grandparents who were lifelong monument professionals. The tradition was been carried on by their son Ken and his wife Jane who operated the business as a 4th generation monument company.  In April of 2023 the business was purchased by then current employee, Jonathan Sharpe and his wife Shanon. Jonathan has years of experience in the funeral industry as he was employed for two local funeral homes in Lunenburg County prior to his employment at Martin Monument while also being the son of a local funeral director. Their family knows what it takes to provide caring and compassionate care during such a difficult time and they're honored to have the opportunity to work with so many local families to help find that closure that so many seek. Jonathan and Shanon reside locally here in Lunenburg County with their two children and look forward to providing years of service from their family to yours.
